Username and Password not accepted – Google SMTP

Unable to send test message: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at 535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials x2sm2415802wmc.21 – gsmtp

Came across this error while setting up ExtremeIQ Cloud

• 

Background

• Username and Password works on Gmail web interface
• SMTP Settings have been correctly followed as follows
  • smtp.gmail.com
  • port 567
  • TLS

Resolution

– Navigate to https://myaccount.google.com/security

-Scrolls to “Less secure app access” and switch that on.
